it's a 16" diameter, 12" deep bass drum, from a kid's set. i bought it for maybe $30 or $40 from a local consignment store.
i needed to raise it up so a regular bass drum pedal would hit in the center of the drum, so i got a pearl jungle jig ($30), a couple of pearl floor tom leg brackets ($20 for a pair) and pulled a tom bracket off of a spare tom i had lying around... but you could get a bt-3 for $30, or use something like an omnimount if you prefer.

then i've got a $40 snare from ebay - a griffin popcorn snare. not bad for the price if you ask me. i put a floor tom leg bracket on that, too, and used a clamp i had lying around to attach it to the hi-hat stand.
