DW Collector's Series Maple Drum Kit Notes

My good friend who shares my name and is an exceptional drummer found this DW kit for me. He even drove to another state to make sure I got it before anyone else did from the seller. For that act of kindness and more, I thank Josh Sales. I believe it's a 2002, but correct me if I'm wrong. The sound is incredible. I am very grateful to have this so early in my drumming career.

Evans EMAD2 Drum Head Takes the Cake June 7, 2013

Ever since I first heard a kick drum with an EMAD drum head on it, I knew I had to have one on my kit. That was a requirement for me. It took until about 2 months ago, but the the first layer of ply (from the 2 ply head) actually busted. While that layer of ply was busted, I continued playing with it but could hear the crackles of the broken ply so I cut off the entire broken layer only leaving the second layer of ply as if it was an EMAD1. I must say, the sound is just as good.

The cymbals I have in my current setup do justice and work for now, but I know with an upgrade, I could get an exceptionally better quality sound. So, I first just wanted to make that clear because I am well aware that my DW shells deserve better. For now I must save up to buy new ones. If you have suggestions on cymbals, let me know!
