Ableton DAW home recording setup and band practice space

Posted on September 20, 2013

Ableton DAW with three monitors, one 28", one 21.5" and one 42" TV. The TV makes editing a LOT easier on the eyes and also makes it easier to collaborate with others. I also recently added two homemade speaker monitor stands I made from PVC which bring the monitors up to ear level.

Recording interface is a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, on the desk are a pair of M-Audio BX5A monitors, the PA speakers are 18" JBL EONs, the midi controllers are an Ableton Push and Novation LaunchKey 25. Primary VSTs used are Omnisphere for synths, Guitar Rig 5 for guitar/bass and EZDrummer 2 for drums.

On the floor is a Logidy three button USB foot controller which enables hands-free operation of the Ableton transport. It makes it a lot easier to get a good take if you're playing and recording by yourself because you don't have to take your hands off the guitar and interrupt your flow every time you make a mistake and want to try again.

Nice, reminds me of an intense level on a video game.
