When I started out, I was massive into early Metallica. One of the first tracks I learnt on bass was "For Whom The Bell Tolls" and no matter how hard I tried I simply couldn't get even close to Burtons madly distorted tones on for the intro riff so I HAD to find a good distortion.

There were a couple of different selling points for this particular pedal. One of the problems I had when playing with different distortions was as soon as I activated the effect my bass would simply disappear out of the mix because the pedal sucked out all the low end. This pedal has a built in 2 band EQ so I can get a real nice crunchy tone and still keep a ton of low end in there.

Also I love how extreme you can get with the gain and balance controls, you can get some pretty crazy sounds out of this pedal.
