This was my first 'proper bass' that I bought back in 1996. Honestly, for £200 it is probably the best buy of my entire life! It plays and sounds like a dream. The rosewood fretboard is lovely and warm but it still has that typical P Bass growl that you would expect. Over the years I've changed the scratchplate from white to black, put on a brass nut, hi-mass bridge and fitted a set of Fender '62 vintage pickups. The neck has a really interesting profile which seems to be in between a Precision and a Jazz which spaces out as you go up the neck. It's also really light and I often wonder if I've got a kind of 'one-off' as it were. I still use it live and in the studio and it has never once let me down - a fantastic instrument.
